September, 2005: A big congratulations is in order for those who competed at the 2005 Region 2 USDF/ABIG Regional Championships held at Eden Park September 7-11.
Bitsy Gascoigne competed her new mare "Aibrean" at Training and First Level. The pair finished 7th at First level out of 25 adult amateurs! Not too bad for their third show together!
Maggie Ball and her 11-year-old "Meridian" danced their way to Reserve Champion at the Second level Freestyle. All enjoyed watching the pair float around the ring to their awesome Santana freestyle.
Lauren showed her 13-year-old "Karsen" at Fourth level and Prix St. George. Despite being quite wild at the beginning of the competition, Karsen was able to channel his energy into his tests and finish 8th at Prix St. George and 4th at Fourth Level.
Gayle Visani's 5-year-old Oldenburg mare "Lyra" was definitely the star of the week! She and Lauren competed at Training and First Level. Lyra was Champion at First level for the Pre-Show. Earning scores in the 70's, it was a good warm up for the Championship classes. Lyra went on to earn the First Level Open Championship and was Reserve Champion at Training Level. Both Lauren and Gayle were thrilled with this young mares performance. With her arms full of ribbons, a cooler and lead shank (Lauren got to keep the jacket!), Gayle was a proud mom!
